Privacy Policy

Peninsula Smart Care ("PSC", "we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting the privacy of the people we deal with. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your personal information when you visit pensmartcare.com.au (the "Site"), make an enquiry, or engage us for our services.

We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).

Who we are

Peninsula Smart Care is an electronic security and healthcare communications integrator based in Melbourne, Victoria, specialising in nurse call, real-time location systems (RTLS), CCTV, and integrated security solutions.

The personal information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our business activities. Depending on how you interact with us, this may include:

  • Enquiry and contact details — your name, email address, phone number, company or organisation, and the content of any message you send us through our website enquiry forms, by email, or by phone.
  • Client and project information — where you engage us for services, information needed to scope, quote, deliver, and support a project, including site contact details and access requirements.
  • Website and device information — collected automatically when you use the Site, such as your IP address, browser type, device information, the pages you view, referring URLs, and how you interact with the Site, gathered through cookies and similar technologies.

We do not seek to collect sensitive information (such as health information) through the Site. If sensitive information is required in the course of delivering a project, we will collect it only with your consent and as permitted by law.

How we collect your information

  • Directly from you — when you complete an enquiry form, request a quote, email or call us, or otherwise correspond with us.
  • Automatically — through cookies, analytics tags, and similar technologies when you browse the Site.
  • From third parties — occasionally from referrers, business partners, or publicly available sources where relevant to a potential or existing engagement.

Our website enquiry forms are processed using a third-party form service (Web3Forms), which transmits your submission to us.

Why we collect and how we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiries and provide quotes;
  • deliver, support, and administer the services you engage us for;
  • communicate with you about your project or account;
  • improve and secure our Site and understand how it is used;
  • send you relevant updates or marketing where you have not opted out (see Direct marketing below); and
  • meet our legal, regulatory, and insurance obligations.

Cookies and analytics

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to function correctly, remember your preferences, and measure performance. We use:

  • Shopify — to operate the Site and its underlying infrastructure.
  • Google Analytics — to understand how visitors use the Site. You can opt out using the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
  • Google Ads — to measure the effectiveness of our advertising and conversions.

Most browsers let you control or block cookies through their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the Site work. Because there is no consistent industry standard for "Do Not Track" signals, we do not currently respond to them.

Who we share your information with

We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose it to:

  • Service providers who help us operate our business and the Site — including Shopify (e-commerce platform), Google (analytics and advertising), and our website form provider — who are only permitted to use it to provide their services to us.
  • Subcontractors and installation partners where necessary to deliver a project you have engaged us for.
  • Authorities or other parties where required or authorised by law, to respond to a lawful request, or to protect our rights, property, or safety.

Overseas disclosure

Some of our service providers store or process data outside Australia. In particular, Shopify is based in Canada and may process data in the United States and elsewhere, and Google operates in the United States and other countries. Where we disclose information overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss, and unauthorised access, modification, or disclosure — including secure hosting, access controls, and appropriate organisational measures. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

How long we keep your information

We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required to meet legal, tax, warranty, or insurance obligations, after which we take reasonable steps to securely destroy or de-identify it.

Accessing and correcting your information

You have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, and to ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate, out of date, or incomplete. To make a request, contact us using the details above. We will respond within a reasonable period and may need to verify your identity first. There is no charge for making a request, though we may charge a reasonable cost for providing access in some cases.

Direct marketing

We may send you marketing communications about our services where it is appropriate to do so. You can opt out at any time by using the unsubscribe link in our emails or by contacting us directly, and we will action your request promptly.

Complaints

If you have a concern or complaint about how we have handled your personal information, please contact us first using the details above so we can try to resolve it.

If you are not satisfied with our response, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. The current version will always be available on our Site, with the "last updated" date below.
